Analysis of Factors Affecting the Incidence of Stunting in Toddlers

Stunting is a developmental disorder in children that can cause their body to become short in stature. The factors that cause stunting do not just take place at that time, but this stunting is a condition of the problem of malnutrition that occurred in the past. The purpose of this study is to analyze the factors that influence the incidence of stunting. This type of research is correlational analytics with sectional Cross design. The samples in this study were 52 respondents (toddlers 1-5 years old) with the Purposive Sampling sampling technique. The study was conducted in the downstream tembilahan village area in December 2020-January 2021. The analysis used is the Chi Square test and the multiple logistic regression analysis test. The results showed that there was an influence of Knowledge (p value = 0.000), Family Income (p value = 0.021), History of Exclusive Breastfeeding (p value = 0.000), Parenting (p value = 0.000), Birth Weight (p value = 0.000) with stunting events and no influence of infectious disease history with stunting events in toddlers (p value = 1,000). It is recommended that the community, especially mothers and families who have children under 5 years old, comply with and implement programs related to providing balanced nutrition to toddlers and increasing creativity for feeding their children.
