Abstract

Stunting is a condition of impaired growth and development in children due to factors such as inadequate nutrition, recurrent infections, and a lack of psychosocial stimulation. The Basic Health Research in 2018 reported that the prevalence of severe stunting in Indonesia reached 19.3%. A 4-year-old girl complained of being shorter than her peers. She had a high fever 2 days earlier followed by cough and cold. Her weight had difficulty increasing since the age of 1-2 years and was below the red line of the Growth Monitoring Card (Kartu Menuju Sehat or KMS). In 2019, she was diagnosed with stunting. The implementation of Clean and Healthy Living Behavior (Perilaku Hidup Bersih dan Sehat or PHBS) was poor. Her nails appeared dirty, and there were small red spots on her hands, feet, and cheeks. To address stunting, there is a need to improve parenting practices, nutritional intake, regularly monitor growth and development, and promote a clean and healthy lifestyle. The author uses a type of case study method in this case study by examining a problem through a case consisting of a single unit.
