Abstract

In the era of advanced technology and communication, the way we deliver da'wah also needs to evolving following these developments. WhatsApp as one of the social media that is widely used by the public because it has the user friendly of operating the application. The convenience and completeness of WhatsApp as a social media is used for communication media and providing this information, making WhatsApp used by many forums as a medium to connect communication in the forum. From the results of the opinions of the students who took part in the interviews, it can be concluded that the use of WhatsApp as a literacy medium for da'wah has a fairly good influence. This is because digital literacy activities for Da'wah must arise from personal awareness, while the existing media provided through WhatsApp social media are readings, pictures or videos that are informative, reminding, and inviting to learn about Islam and deepen studies in Islam. There is a positive influence on the use of WhatsApp in increasing digital literacy for da'wah, but the magnitude of its effectiveness cannot be presented. The limitation of this research is that it uses a sample of 10 students and the research is only in the form of observations, interviews and is sourced from several literature studies. The development of social media which is expected to continue to grow rapidly in the future along with the continued development of communication technology will have a high contribution to how to communicate and how to convey information, especially in the world of da'wah.
