Analysis of Spelling Errors in SDI Binakheir School Outgoing Letters

The purpose of this study was to describe spelling errors in outgoing official letters at SDI Binakheir School. The author wants to know the errors contained in the SDI Binakheir School official exit letter. The research approach used in this research is qualitative research. This approach is oriented towards writing spelling. The data source for this research is SDI Binakheir School. The data in this study are outgoing official letters. The data collection technique for this research is the listening and note-taking technique because the method used to obtain data is done by listening to the use of language. The purpose of the listening and note-taking technique is to observe the spontaneous use of spoken language and record relevant data in accordance with the aims and objectives of the research. The method used in this study is a qualitative descriptive technique method, in which this method describes the reality in accordance with the qualitative data obtained. Based on research on SDI Binakheir School official exit letters, it can be seen that there were errors including 17 capital letter errors, 15 standard word writing errors, 11 foreign word writing, 3 punctuation errors, 1 abbreviation error, 1 parenthetical error, and 1 misuse of hyphens. Based on the results of the overall analysis the number of errors that occurred was 49 errors.
